I build systems and then run them. 12 deployed services across 8 Linux hosts on Kubernetes with GitOps, the monitoring stack under them, and the incidents that come with it, including a 13-day silent TLS renewal failure I caught with 17 days left and traced to certificate probes that were structurally blind behind a CDN. For your team that means an engineer who can read, debug and unblock any layer, who carries the pager, and who documents as he goes.
Legacy systems, modernized in place
At Gypsilon I made the case for leaving a Vaadin monolith for independently deployable services and carried it against internal resistance, then owned the backend foundation: service boundaries, migration sequencing, schema-per-tenant isolation for 50+ tenants, and a transactional outbox so a redelivered invoice never double-pays. I also took the company off-premise onto AWS and migrated the first 5 of its 30+ ERP modules. The unglamorous work most engineers avoid is the work I'm best at.
AI-assisted delivery, with the gates on
My own estate ships on agent workflows: Claude Code, Cursor, and MCP servers running against the estate's own APIs. The part that matters is what surrounds it, because generated code goes through the same review, architecture tests and CI gates as hand-written code. I take a team from AI-curious to AI-productive without the slop, and I can tell you where not to use it.
